Myths, urban legends, misperceptions and sometimes outright lies. We know there are some crazy things that people have been told about Real Christmas Trees over the years. And this has led to a large number of confused consumers. While many of these myths can be traced back to the fake tree industry, many are like urban legends ... they just sort of exist and nobody really knows how they started.

ONLY 109 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS 2010!
OUR HISTORY

It all began one autumn evening.

About twenty some years ago several close friends and I were having a fall dinner together and we started talking about Christmas and, in particular, Christmas trees just like the ones we grew up with – the REAL kind. We talked about how the Christmas tree was the center of activity for the Christmas' of our parents, and our grand parents. We wanted to continue the tradition and link to our heritage and find that 'just-cut' quality Christmas tree this Christmas where family and friends would gather round to share in what is truly our most joyous and traditional of holidays. In other words, we wanted trees, wreaths and garland of such quality, beauty, and freshness that they would continue
to look as beautiful at the end of the holiday season as they did in the beginning. But we wanted more. We wanted all of this tradition delivered right to our doorstep!

Well, I knew that west Michigan was home to some of the best trees in the nation -- Michigan is ranked among the top 3 states for quality Christmas trees – so, I boxed up a few trees and wreaths and sent them to friends of our friends and a few family members – namely my Mom in Florida and daughter in Virginia, just as a surprise. Well, they were more than pleasantly surprised, and they did cherish their gifts throughout the season.

The rest is history.

You’ve all heard the saying that necessity is the mother of invention, well in 1987 I started the company because I simply wanted to send a REAL fresh Christmas tree to my family and closest friends. Well, now my grandkids – Conner and Carly can’t wait for their tree to arrive from me – what a thrill!

Through several years of trial and error, the usual way we accomplish anything, I have the system perfected - or at least I think I have! Now I can deliver field-fresh, Michigan Christmas trees from 6 feet to 9 feet tall, all kinds of hand-made wreaths with real holly and beautiful garland rope, direct from our family to other families.

Now, how cool is that!

Picture the scene when a large box arrives at the door of someone you value. Imagine the surprise when they open one end of the box revealing what's inside - A tree! Our elves still get very excited just thinking about it! A REAL Christmas tree - from Michigan!

As the tree is removed from its box, the sight is awesome, unbelievable: a beautiful, real Michigan Christmas tree, surrounded by the unforgettable scent of the holiday filling the air. After the tree is completely removed from its box and a small piece (about 1-inch) of trunk cut off, the tree, still in its protective nylon mesh, is positioned in a tree stand, or 2 1/2-gallon bucket filled with sand and water, until it can stand straight without being held - this usually takes 10-15 minutes of adjusting the stand or bucket. Then it is given, slowly, a big drink (sometimes up to 1-gallon!) of clean water (do not add anything, like salt or "make your tree last longer stuff") after its long journey. The protective nylon mesh is gently snipped - scissors are best - and as the tree relaxes (this may take a few hours - it has been a long journey), its branches gently unfold to reveal a beautiful shape - the warmth and ambience is heartfelt.

Nothing you could send or receive embraces the spirit and sentiment of Christmas and all the joys and wonderful memories you wish for the holiday season more than a REAL, natural Christmas Tree.

From our family to your family.
